Dean is a Chartered Psychologist and Chartered Scientist and has 23 years’ experience working up to board level across industry, government and third sector organisations in the UK and internationally. He specialises in Leadership Assessment, and Individual and Team Development, where he uses evidence-based tools and interventions drawn from positive psychology.
Dean began his career in the Cabinet Office, but has since worked with organisations as varied as the National Crime Agency, Deloitte, London Borough of Waltham Forest, Ford Motor Company and Southampton Football Club. He balances a focus on scientific rigour with pragmatic business sense, and works regularly at the highest levels of organisations (Managing Director, Chief Executive, Assistant Director General) to identify and develop potential and improve performance.
Dean is qualified and experienced in the use of a wide range of psychometric assessments and has developed, applied and evaluated many objective assessment tools. He also shares his expertise and experience by training others to use psychometric tools and by training and mentoring managers in assessment centres, structured interviewing and coaching skills. Dean has worked with RFL for a number of years and is a founding member of the BPS Special Group in Coaching Psychology.
